Hello my hunnies! I hope you've spent your New Year's eve the way you wanted and had a blast... and I wish you all the best in the year 2014! :) Now onto the tag... since you seemed to enjoy reading My ideal palette tag, I thought I might do the Perfect palette tag as well. I'm not gonna lie, the Ideal palette tag was much more exciting, but this one is also fun... Now enough of this jibber-jabber and onto the palettes.
1. Best packaging
As I mentioned in My ideal palette tag, the award for best packaging goes to theBalm Nude'tude eyeshadow palette. It's just so sleek and thin, closes very securely and does not open easily. Has a nice design and just great packaging in general.
2. Best color payoff
This one was a bit tricky because I really don't own any eyeshadow palettes that have poor pigmentation/color payoff. I am (as you probably already know) a die hard Urban Decay fan and I think they make amazing eyeshadows. I currently own 3 palettes from them and all three are amazing, but the palette that has the best color payoff is probably the Naked palette. There is just not a single eyeshadow in there that has poor/lesser pigmentation.
3. Most versatile
That would have to be the Vice2 palette. It has 20 eyeshadows, a whole row of neutrals and a bunch of colorful eyeshadows so you have the versatility to create a ton of different looks. It's a truly amazing palette and I've been using it all the time ever since I got it! :D
4. Best for traveling
I don't really travel a lot, the only traveling I usually do is going home to visit my family. But when I decide to take a palette with me, it's usually the Naked Basics palette, because it's just so small and travel friendly (it's smaller than my phone) yet it has all the colors you need to create a gentle, everyday look, or a more dramatic, smokey eye. Lovely little palette!
5. Biggest regret
I can't really say I regret buying any of my eyeshadow palettes but I kind of regret buying some of the Inglot eyeshadows. We don't have Inglot in my country, so my husband took me to Croatia on a little trip so I could pick up some eyeshadows. When we came to the store I was a bit overwhelmed by all the colors and couldn't really decide which ones to get. Then the sales lady informed me there was a 40% discount on the round eyeshadows (initially I wanted the square ones). Because there was such a huge discount I had to get the round ones, but unfortunately there weren't as much shades to choose from, as there were in the square form. I ended up creating two lovely palettes but they both lack the palette 'formation' - if each one would have a highlight, lid, crease, outer corner color, I would probably use them more often. But now they're just two palettes with lovely colors in them, colors that I have to combine with colors from other palettes, if I want to create a full look. So that's my regret - not choosing/creating my palettes more carefully. :)
6. Best color names
I think a lot of my palettes have great color names (I always love the names Urban Decay gives to their colors), but I would probably choose the Too Faced Romantic eye palette. It's a palette for gentle, romantic, bride/wedding looks, so it has appropriate names for the eyeshadows in it - I Do, Cut The Cake, First Dance, Honeymoon... :)
7. Least used
I don't use my Inglot palettes that much, but I have been trying to use them more often now... The least used would probably be BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic palette. It is a fairly new palette and I haven't had it for a long time, but after swatching it and creating one look with it, I kind of neglected it. It's more of a fun palette with great, colorful eyeshadows that I just don't use on a daily basis.
8. Most used
Without a doubt the Naked palette from Urban Decay. I've had it for about 3 years now and I use it all the time. Though, Vice2 is gaining up on it - I've been using it so much and I don't even have it that long. :)
9. Most loved
Again, definitely the Naked palette. It is my absolute favorite palette, ever! I love it to death! If I could only have one palette for the rest of my life, this would be it. :D
10. Desert island
Now, I know I probably wouldn't use any makeup, let alone eyeshadow, if I were stranded on a desert island, but let's just go along with this... :) I would probably have to say the Naked palette, again (I know, I know... you're getting sick of it). Though, I might want to take the Vice2, just to have more options. Ehhhh... this is hard... I'm gonna say Vice2 and that's that! :)
So here they are... my 'perfect' palettes, each in its own way. :) Do you own any of these palettes or would want to own? Have you done this tag, I would love to check it out...
